Sera Monastery

Sera Monastery is located in the northern suburbs of Lhasa. It costs about 40 yuan when going there from the city. The Tibetans in the scenic area are free to open. Tickets for other tourists are 50 Yuan/person.

After entering the scenic spot, some temples are still being renovated, and large trucks are driving in and out, which is very dangerous. The main halls and the shacks are very beautiful, especially the murals and Buddha statues which are created hundreds of years ago are invaluable. It is recommended that everyone is civilized traveling and loves cultural relics.

Sera Monastery is well known to outsiders for its dok, but Sera Monastery not just has debate. Walking on the path, you can turn around every corner of the temple and feel the past of the Sera Monastery.

After 15:00 o’clock in the afternoon, there will be many halls closed. It is recommended to visit the Sera Monastery in the morning or at noon. In the afternoon, you can take a look at the debate.

At the gate of the Sera Monastery, there are not many believers. Instead, there will be more tourists than believers. They are all rushing through the wonderful debates.

The Sera Monastery is not as grand as Drepung Monastery, not as solemn as Jokhang Temple, but the debate of the Sera Monastery is definitely the most distinctive and the most one that cannot be missed.

After watching the debate, you may feel that it is just like watching a wonderful performance, and basically you still don’t know that they are debating. Perhaps its charm is to let people feel that under the pure blue sky and white clouds of Tibet, there is piety, simplicity and concentration of faith, which is wonderful!

During visiting the Sera Monastery, you will see a lot of Thangka murals and exquisite paintings, which make people feel the strong Buddhist atmosphere. The monks in the hall are chanting, and you may look forward to their simple life.

The Potala Palace

The Potala Palace is very close to the Jokhang Temple. It is 20 minutes from the Jokhang Temple. It is a place for taking pictures. There are many believers kowtowing in the door of the palace.

The Potala Palace in April is still the winter in Tibet. In order to promote winter tourism, Tibet’s main attractions are free of tickets, including the Potala Palace. However, there are only 2,000 tickets per day, and there are only a few hundred scattered tickets. It is impossible for oneself to queue up buying the tickets one day or two days in advance. So, you still need to spend money to join a local 1-day group. Of course, having a professional tour guide is also good for you to have better experience while visiting Tibet.

The outer walls of the Potala Palace are painted once a year, so even though it has a history of thousands of years, it is still as new. The paint is mixed with milk, honey, white sugar, etc. in white ash, and is carefully brushed by the believers.

The Potala Palace has only four colors, red symbolizes authority, white symbolizes peace, black symbolizes solemnity, yellow symbolizes prosperity, the roof and windows of the palace are made of wooden structure, the corners of the house are raised, and the copper tiles are gold.

From the White House to the Red Palace, you can take pictures. After entering the Red Palace, you can’t take pictures. There are time limits. You must complete the tour within an hour. Maybe the Red Palace will not be open to the public in a few years, so if you want to have a look at these treasures, just take time, you will have an enjoyable tour in Tibet.

Shanghai Shengjianbao

When you are having a travel in Shanghai, don’t forget to taste the snacks in Shanghai too.

Shanghai Shengjianbao can be said to be a native Shanghai snack, which is said to have a history of hundreds of years. Its characteristics are: crisp skin, thick juice, delicious meat. With a bite of the Shengjianbao, the smell of meat, oil, onion, and sesame will not dissipate in the mouth for a long time. Because Shanghai people used to call “Baozi” as “steamed bread”, so the Shengjianbao in Shanghai is generally called the Pan-Fried Steamed Bun. Formerly it is the sideline variety of the tea house, tiger stove (Boiling shop). The stuffing inside is mainly made of fresh pork and frozen skin. After the 1930s, the Shanghai catering industry has a professional shop for Pan-Fried Steamed Bun, and the color of the stuffing has also increased the variety of chicken and shrimp.

The bottom of the outer skin of the Shanghai Shengjianbao is fried into golden color, and some sesame and shallot are sprinkled in the upper part. It smells fragrant and you will bite a mouthful of soup, which is very popular among Shanghainese. The finished product is white, soft and loose, the meat is tender with marinade, and there are sesame and onion flavors when crunching. When it is taken out from the pot, it is the best time to eat it.

The evaluation for the Shanghai Shengjianbao is: “The skin is thin but not broken and not burnt, the second yeast is baked, the fresh soup is full of mouth, and it is a failure when the bottom is thick and burnt.” It shows the advantages of the Shanghai Shengjianbao, but also remind you that just don’t buy those the Shanghai Shengjianbao whose bottom is thick and burnt, as it will be not delicious.

Qutang Gorge

Qutang Gorge and Baidi City are at the same scenic spot with beautiful scenery. The background of the 10 RMB is here. It is one of the Three Gorges, you will pass by when taking the boat visiting the Three Gorges, and even though you don’t recommend it, everyone will surely know about the Qutang Gorge.

The banks of the Qutang Gorge are cutting and steep, the rock walls are towering, and the rivers are rushing through the cliffs. Since ancient times, there have been the reputations of “It is the sword that is more dangerous, it is the Kui Gorge that is more powerful”.

The Qutang Gorge features a plenty of scenic spots and historical sites and they are all concentrated together, which is more convenient for visitors to have a visit. On the upper reaches of the Qutang Gorge narrow, there are Fengjie Ancient City, Stone Sentinel Maze, and Yufu Tower. On the top of the northern bank of the gorge, there are many cultural relics of Baidi City, and there is the thrilling ancient plank road and the mysterious Fengxiang gorge. The south bank has a powder wall with many inscribed copies.

In December 2015, Qutangxia Scenic Area was selected as one of the 30 best tourism new landscapes in the Three Gorges of the Yangtze River.

There are indeed monkeys frolicking sound in the two sides of the Qutang Gorge. Most of the people now have the impressions on the Qutang Gorge from the boat. And what impressed them the most is the red leaves on both sides of the river. The Kuimen stands out. In Baidi City, you can view the magnificent majesty of Qutang Gorge. At this time, relying on the boat you can see its steepness. The peaks on both sides of the strait are steep, like a knife and axe. The mountain is narrow, and the river is forced into a thin belt and squats in the valley. Looking up at the blue sky, the cloud and the sky is at the same line, the water in the gorge is rushing and whistling, and you can hear that the waves of the bow and the waves make a huge cheer. The Three Gorges of the Yangtze River is a place that must be visited in the life.

The scenery of Qutang Gorge is really beautiful. It is a pity if you do not take a visit there.

The Terracotta Army Museum

Although the Terracotta Army Museum is the eighth wonder of the world, many people must not be interested in such cultural regrets. Fortunately, you will meet a very professional commentator, and even if there are crowed people, you will still feel it very worthwhile. There are spectacular people in the queue. After entering the gate from the security check, it will take about 1 kilometer to get to the terracotta warriors.

The scene of the Qin Terracotta Warriors is spectacular, but the details are more impressive, and not to mention thousands of people with different facial expressions, and clear hair, even a hidden hand struts are vivid. Chinese craftsmen spirit is not lacking in 2000 years ago, and strong visual impact and national pride are born when you are visiting the Terracotta Army Museum. After more than two thousand years has been passed, every character is still vivid.

The Mausoleum of the First Qin Emperor was 1.5 kilometers away from the Terracotta Warriors. Because of the heavy weight of the mausoleum, it is said that there are more than one million tons of mercury. Once the mercury is leaked, it will cause poisonous gas pollution. With modern technology, it is impossible to excavate. However, some people believe that in addition to technical factors, the economy is also a major obstacle to excavation. The Mausoleum of the First Qin Emperor is the largest tombstone that has been found. It is equivalent to removing a mountain before the actual excavation.

So far, the terracotta warriors are still digging. The terracotta warriors’ pits that you can see are the working scenes of the staff. They are excavating and repairing them at the same time. Therefore, every visit to the terracotta warriors may have differences. Maybe the next time they are unearthed or repaired some terracotta warriors. Repairing terracotta warriors is a very complicated and delicate work. Because of the long age and deep underground, many terracotta warriors have become broken pieces when they are unearthed. A professional cultural relic fixer takes 3-5 months to “restore” a terracotta warrior.

Anyway, if you are interested in Chinese history, The Terracotta Army Museum is an ideal option that should be included in your itinerary in China.

Li River

The biggest feeling of being in the Lijiang River is nothing but beauty. This beauty with a worldly atmosphere is probably only acceptable to the Li River. Like a fairy with a fireworks, the reason why it is called a fairy is simply because of beauty. However, the trend is even more intense, but it does not affect the beauty of Li River. This kind of beauty is natural, straightforward and amazing. It turns out that beauty is not the kind that has to be maintained and decorated, that is, the fact that it is natural and beautiful. The beauty of Li River is eye-catching, which make the language congested, and the beauty can be so outstanding. This is obvious.

In fact, there are a lot of things to play along the Li River. For example, take a bamboo raft, go to the place of the back of RMB 20 yuan to take photo with the 20 Yuan, or go to the Laozhai Mountain.

The scenery along the coast is a continuous landscape painting. People touring in the Ri Liver will feel a great joy, and what comes after it is lingering! There are mountains, water, and mountains for cooking, water for wine, and you can feel it delicious, without regrets in the life! The mountain is also eyebrows, the water is also rouge, then you can smell such a fragrance, and it is really refreshing and pleasant. Then, in addition to feeling that you are already a fairy, you may only feel the fascination of the Li River.

You can walke slowly on the shore of the Li River, and sit on the stone bench and wait quietly for the sunset. The slowly disobedient sunset climb over the Li River and the entire sky is dyed into pink color. The clouds are pink too. They are many tourists sitting on the banks of the Li River and watching the beautiful sunset. There are many parents who bring their children to play on the Lijiang River. Many photographers are waiting for the awesome scenery after sunset. The landscape of the Li River, together with the beautiful sunset, makes it even more fascinating.
